Over the years, the Association has not only fully assisted local police precincts and stations in promoting policing policies and crime prevention but has also actively participated in local development. By providing tangible support to underprivileged families and emergency aid cases, the Association concretely practices Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), embodying the spirit of "giving back to the Neihu community."
This year, driven by his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication, Dr. George Wood has been re-elected as President of the Taipei Wende Association with overwhelming support. This re-election represents not only the members' high regard for his past contributions but also signifies that, under his leadership, the Association is poised to reach new milestones.
In the interview, Dr. Wood emphasized that on the global business stage, it is essential for voices to speak up on behalf of Taiwan's industries with a broad, international perspective. He noted that today's industries are facing three major challenges: the comprehensive reshaping of the global industrial landscape, the need to balance immediate operational realities with long-term corporate development, and the cultivation of organizational resilience.
Dr. Wood further explained that corporate resilience is deeply rooted in leadership, particularly in a leader's ability to respond decisively and adapt under pressure. He shared from experience that even when confronted with bad debts and the risk of bankruptcy, maintaining integrity and honoring commitments is crucial, as trust is the most valuable asset in building a resilient and sustainable supply chain.
In addition, he highlighted that international exhibitions and trade shows remain one of the most effective platforms for global collaboration, brand visibility, and market expansion. Through exhibitions, companies can connect with international partners, identify emerging trends, and transform challenges into concrete business opportunities.
Dr. Wood expressed his hope that by sharing these insights, Taiwan's industries can gain greater clarity, confidence, and strategic direction as they navigate an increasingly complex global environment.
In a time of constant change and uncertainty, Dr. Wood believes that vision, integrity, and global engagement are the true foundations of long-term competitiveness. By embracing transformation, strengthening resilience, and actively engaging with the world, Taiwan's industries can not only weather challenges—but chart a new course toward sustainable growth and global impact.

Dr. George Wood, Honorary President of the Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (TSMA) and Lifetime Honorary Board Member of WFSGI, fully participated in both meetings. During the sessions, he delivered a presentation addressing how Taiwan and the broader Asian sporting goods industries are responding to post-pandemic market restructuring and the challenges brought by U.S.–China trade barriers.
Dr. Wood explained that while U.S. tariffs and supply chain shifts have accelerated Taiwanese manufacturers’ expansion into Vietnam, Southeast Asia, and even to U.S.A. the industry is simultaneously responding with product smartization, functional integration, and service upgrading. Many enterprises have also adopted a dual supply chain strategy to enhance flexibility and mitigate risks. Supported by government initiatives in finance, supply chain management, talent development, and market diversification, Taiwanese business leaders remain confident in maintaining competitiveness and contributing further to the global sporting goods industry.
Dr. Wood’s insightful presentation resonated strongly with all WFSGI participants, sparking enthusiastic discussions and receiving widespread recognition — making it an exceptionally successful speech.
